A good day is easier to live when you define it before the day runs away.
One well-known principle from The 7 Habits is to begin with the end in mind. You can use that idea at a small daily scale.
Ask the evening question in the morning
Imagine tonight. The day is done. You feel proud, not because everything was perfect, but because you kept the important promises.
What happened?
Write three answers:
- One health promise
- One work or learning promise
- One relationship or personal promise
That is your day map.
Make it concrete
Vague endings do not help.
"Be healthier" becomes "walk for 20 minutes." "Be productive" becomes "finish the draft." "Be present" becomes "phone away at dinner."
The quick rule
Before the day starts asking for your attention, decide what deserves it.
Begin with the end of today.
